This was such a beautiful sunset session, with that dreamy end of summer light. I have had the honor of photographing Anne and her wonderful family many times now. Their son turned one year old (already!) this summer, and when they said they would be in the Pittsburgh area to visit family, we decided to schedule a sunset family session- and I am so glad we did!

This young age for your little one can be tricky for pictures- they require a lot of patience, and often switching up the scenery. This park near Cranberry, PA was a perfect fit for this. They are at such an independent age which means we take lots of little breaks so they can walk around and explore, and we move around a lot! Every age that I photograph has different expectations for how we will have a successful session. I have found that the key is to just let them be, and gently guide them into a photograph or two a little at a time. We captured such special moments between the three of them! Here are a few of my favorites, photographed digitally and on medium format black and white film.
