I recently stayed in Connecticut for the long weekend to photograph two family portrait sessions in the area. One of the perks of trips to Connecticut is getting to visit and stay with my best friend and my “nephew”! One of the early afternoons felt so warm outside for the time of year, so we decided to walk out in back of her house into her neighbor’s farm field to take a couple rolls of black & white film! A huge goal of mine this year is to shoot more film for fun, to try new stocks and try new things to grow in my craft. I want to become more and more comfortable creating with this medium that I love so much!
Alicia isn’t new to this blog, as last year I photographed her maternity portraits in Iceland, and her in-home newborn session after Alex was born. It has been such a gift to watch her become a mother, and already be raising him so well. From the looks he gave the camera, you can totally tell that I am his favorite auntie! Here are some of my favorites!
I just love his capability of expressing every single emotion in such a short minute. This image below must have been his face when I told him that my film was all gone! (Can you even stand it?!)
