I feel incredibly lucky to waking up in San Francisco this morning! I woke up bright and early- a major benefit of being on EST on the West Coast is that automatic 3 hour head start! If only every morning could feel like this!
Today I am bravely taking part in unfamiliar public transit (I am such a country girl and total scardy cat when it comes to trains and buses!) But I have my Hasselblad loaded up and I am ready to be a complete tourist! I have had my medium format film camera since January, and just recently finished my very first roll of film with it. Considering only 12 images come on a roll, that is nothing to be proud of! But there’s just something about being home and taking the time to go out and just shoot where I am at that I just never take the time for. So I am pumped to make that my major goal of the day- to get out there and practice film!
I am meeting a photographer for a Connected Brand Mentoring session this afternoon, and we are going to meet up at a Blue Bottle Coffee which I heard was really good! (Apparently there are a few locations in NYC too, who knew?)
Are you familiar with San Francisco? Have a favorite best known secret to where I should go? Let me know in the comments! I am up for an adventure today! And LOTS of coffee. Obviously.
Last night was my first portrait session of the weekend and I cannot WAIT to share more of this session. It was SO beautiful! Here’s one of my favorites as I was downloading them last night.

I love SF and would recommend checking out the Ferry Building. So many great places in one market. Blue Bottle, Slanted Door and Hog Island Oyster Company are just three of my favorites! Have fun!

SF has so many great places to visit! I don’t know how long you’re in the area, but I would try to at least visit as many typical touristy places as possible because they’re famous for a reason!
Fisherman’s Wharf
Alcatraz
Alamo Square – Painted Ladies from the Full House
Presidio
Lombard Street
Chinatown
Union Square
Palace of Fine Arts
Baker Beach
Golden Gate Park

Outside of the city my favorite spots are Point Bonita, Rodeo Beach, Fort Baker, and the town of Sausalito!
