After moving into my new space just outside of Pittsburgh PA last week, I made my way back up the North coast for three at home newborn sessions for families in Maine, New Haven, Connecticut, and Rye, New York. I am sending off all of the black and white film to Richard Photo Lab this morning and I cannot wait to see how the scans turned out!

One of my absolute favorite things about photographing in my client’s home (the list of everything I love is pretty long!) is getting to see their photographs on display- especially for families that I have worked with year after year. Sometimes it’s even jokingly referred to as their “Tiffany Farley Wall”. This past weekend in Rye, New York I just LOVED how Jessica had filled their family hallways with gorgeous large framed portraits of our sessions together. (these each looked like they were 20×20 frames holding 16×16 prints)

I was there to photograph their third baby, and as this wall reminded me, we have captured a lot of really special memories as their babies have gotten older!

Whether you order professional framed wall portraits through me, or invest in the digital files to be able to frame your own- I cannot express enough the importance of filling your home with printed photographs. I love to offer my clients digital files, in addition to prints and albums, that give families the freedom to self print, share images with their loved ones, and personally archive their images for the future. But what is so important- is that those digital files don’t just stay in a Facebook album somewhere untouched. Print them! Frame them! Bind them in a beautiful album to treasure always. I love technology and the social digital age as much as the next person, but I never want to forget the gift that is printed photographs.
