The Top 20 Portraits of 2015 and a Giveaway!

One of my favorite things to do at the end of the year is to look back on all of the sessions from the past 12 months and narrow down my absolute favorite portraits that were created that year. This year I wanted to limit my favorites to the top 20 from different portrait sessions. January is full of goal setting and focusing on all the things I want to do better in the year to come, so it fuels my creativity and fires me up to pause and recognize how proud I am of my work, and how far it has come- and to celebrate my art and the families I have had the honor of working with.
And this year, the annual Favorite Portrait Contest is back!
All you need to do to vote, is share which portrait shared below should win as the Best of 2015 and why in the comment section at the bottom of this post. The contest will be live for just seven days, and the portrait with the most comments will win!
If there are at least 200 comments (uniquely given from 200 individuals), there will be PRIZES to win! So be sure to share this post link on social media to get the word out!
If there are at least 200 comments, the family in the winning portrait will win their choice of:

(Although there were favorites from Copenhagen and Iceland that almost made the list too!) What a year!

Gotta vote for the Tonne family, even though I love the twins shot!
Spring & Lydia you can see the love between the two a beautiful mother daughter bond.
My favorite is #12, the shared sweet kiss between Mom and daughter. This photo is elegant and honest, and carefully captures this moment of love.
Number 12. Cassandra and Sadie. I love love them all, but this one is just such a perfect moment. Feet in the water, the ocean breeze blowing their hair, and a sweet little kiss shared. When my little one stops playing to give me a little kiss it’s the sweetest moment. Ones that I treasure! This image is simple, natural and just perfect!
I love the Ballards family photo!!!!! It shows hope with adoption for families!!
It’s hard to choose they are all beautiful! I like 12 & 18 the best but 18 more so. It reminds me of how God has his children in the Palm of His hand.

I love the shot of the Liu-Ballard famil (#6). You can see plain as day that they’ve been on quite a journey to get to where they are…and are still going. Beautiful.

It’s my favorite because as a mother I can feel how that mother is feeling. Kissing her beautiful baby and just enjoying how cute and innocent they are and how much they love their mamas! It’s the best!

I vote for image #3! It’s a very powerful image that speaks to the meaning of family. The way the husband is holding onto his wife and the way the mother is caressing her child. Just beautiful!
I’m sort of biased, but I’ll go with #4 Magalis!
I’m a little biased but I love #12. The love between mother and daughter and the water on there dresses. Love it! I’m also in love with #16

I love #12. This one stuck out to me right away. I adore the simple, natural background and the sweet kiss between a beautiful mom and child.

#2 – Molly and her children. The expression that little boys face is simply beautiful. You can tell how much he loves his mom. Every mother should have a photo that conveys that much emotion and love!
Choosing a favorite is so hard, I can’t imagine how you narrowed it to these from all your stunning sessions!! #3 pulls are my heart the absolute most. The love they have for the new baby but also how lovingly he holds his arms around her just draws me into the peace and joy of this image!

So hard to choose (all so beautiful!) but number 2)–Molly & her children–stops me in my tracks. That is raw, exquisite, timeless motherhood right there.
As a mom, got to go for Cassandra and Sadie. Just because……..that bond is a whole body experience, every day, forever.
My vote is for photo (2)- Molly & her children. The photo captures raw emotion and natural beauty. Perfection.
Number 6 is definitely my favorite! Blended families make my heart happy 🙂

Love them all, but the first one of Lauren and Noelle is beautiful. It captures a beautiful quite moment of mom and her precious newborn. There is just nothing like those first moments.

My favorites are 2&11.
Knowing the history of the Perry family, I think you have captured something quite remarkable. Molly is fully present for her two children, but there is definitely a sense of melancholy and searching- a beautiful tribute to Griffin Isla and Payton.

As a parent who is going through the adoption process, the Liu-Ballard Family photo shows so much strength and hope. You can feel the love shared in their closeness in the photo. You can see how happy they are to be living as a beautiful blended family. You can even see how calm and wise their eldest child is as she gazes into the distance. They are a beautiful family that is inspirational for many of us! All children deserve to be loved and held close as these little ones are and bravo to them for providing that loving environment. I realize I’m 5 months late to the party..but no question the best image is #5! The Wappler family. I don’t even know how you managed to shoot such a beautiful frame on a manual focus camera while the family is moving like that! It’s incredible! That image belongs in a storybook about the most perfect little family ever! Also #12 I love, Cassandra & Sadie. That one is ridiculously precious and tender. Great captures of what motherhood is all about! Really all of these are gorgeous Tiffany! You blow me away!
