A few weeks ago I had the honor of once again photographing fashion & lifestyle blogger Lauren McBride in her charming Connecticut home, this time to celebrate the birth of her beautiful baby girl, Noelle. (you can see her maternity session with Noelle, and see a glimpse of her “Pinterest Famous” newborn session with her son here! Lauren is definitely not new to my blog, and I love that I have gotten to photograph such an incredible journey of motherhood with her!)

We knew this portrait session would be entirely different then her first newborn session for a few different reasons. Her son was born in June, so we had the opportunity to photograph part of his newborn session on the beach during a warm summer evening. Noelle was born this fall, so we knew we would do the shoot entirely indoors due to the chilly temperatures. It’s also always a bit different to prepare for a newborn session when you have a toddler to get ready too, so we both came into the session fully recognizing that the feel of this images would be their own.

Noelle hadn’t been sleeping much the few days leading up the session, so Lauren decided that she willing to leave her swaddled for the entirety of the session if it meant it kept her sleeping. So we simply and beautifully photographed quiet moments with Noelle and both of her parents in their home using a digital camera, and also using medium format black and white film. Here today I am sharing a few of my favorite film portraits!
