I have had the honor of working with professional hair and makeup artist Jocelyn Tonne of Simply Gorgeous By Erin for many of my Connecticut motherhood clients. She, along with the handful of artists that I personally recommend, always go above and beyond in making my Connecticut portrait clients feel so spoiled and well taken cared for before their sessions with me. Jocelyn and I have long since commented that we both could not wait until it was her turn for maternity and newborn pictures, and a couple weeks ago it finally was!

I photographed their maternity portraits in their beautiful new Stratford, Connecticut home and decided to take a few extra rolls of medium format film as well. I am so glad that I did, because film captured some of these portraits in a way that digital could just never emulate. I will soon be sharing a bit more about my journey of slowly incorporating more film into my portrait sessions.

I love that we were also able to quietly document unobtrusive portraits of Jocelyn and her husband Harrison together, enjoying these moments before their son soon arrives. I absolutely cannot wait to return to Southern Connecticut this September to photograph his newborn session, and photograph them as a family of three.
