This past week as I got ready to travel south to a newborn portrait session in Rye, New York, I received an email from a family who was staying in Manchester, Connecticut. She told me she was 8 months pregnant, quickly needed to book her maternity session, and was told I was the best. Now while I humbly know that others in the world excel in their craft far beyond the skill level I desire to someday reach, the compliment was so encouraging, as often inquiries can simply ask for prices with no comment on my work or why they felt drawn to it.

In between New England blizzards, I was able to quickly schedule this session. She decided to book my Motherhood Collective, the already most popular booking of 2015, so that I can return to photograph their family when their second little one arrives. It is so special as a photographer to photograph a woman’s pregnancy, then also her holding her newborn a few short weeks to follow. Motherhood never ceases to fascinate me and it is such an honor to photograph it’s beauty.
