I am so thrilled to share this maternity portrait collection with you today! I had the honor of meeting and photographing the beautifully expecting Brea McDonald this month. She contacted me shortly after my Cape Elizabeth maternity session with photographer Spring McKenney, sharing that she wasn’t planning to have maternity portraits taken until she saw Spring’s classic black and white collection that we did- what an incredible compliment! I knew from the moment that I met Brea, and stepped into her charming Wells, Maine cottage style home that it was going to be an incredibly beautiful session.

We pulled in meaningful pieces for some of the portraits- their wedding portrait hanging on the wall of their bedroom, and Brea’s grandmother’s curtains that now adorn the nursery. I love working with families who value heritage and legacy, and see the value of including those things in their portrait collections. This session resulted in some of the most timeless maternity portraits I have ever taken.

A huge thank you to Portland, Maine’s  Stacia Makeup Artistry, for coming to Brea’s home before our session, and pampering her with professional hair and makeup. Stacia does such an incredible job making my clients feel at ease, and her work creates a flawless look for the camera, but still natural looking, which is often so important to the women I work with. She’s the best in Southern Maine and I simply don’t know what I would do without her!
